The West Chester Area School District has the following position available:
1.0 - Assistant Director of Teaching, Learning, and Equity
The Assistant Director of Teaching, Learning, and Equity would help design and oversee professional development that addresses our seventeen schools' unique challenges and priorities. They would collaborate with teachers, instructional coaches, equity coaches, supervisors, principals, and district leaders to ensure professional learning opportunities are data-informed and aligned with our district's strategic plan.
To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skill and/or ability necessary.
- Certification in School Administration
- Management experience strongly preferred
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
- Possess effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interface diplomatically with other administrators, teachers, parents, students, Board members, support staff, colleagues, and outside professional contacts.
- Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Proficiency in the use of technology for individual and system management, communication, and research; proficiency in presentation technology to enhance small and large group information and demonstration sessions
- Skills in coordinating and evaluating staff use of technology
