The West Chester Area School District has the following ELD Paraprofessional/Instructional Assistant position available in the District.

 

**Position is 7 hours a day; 5 days/week** 

 

The Paraprofessional assists the classroom teacher by (1) helping to supervise and accompany the students during activities within and outside the classroom, (2) aiding the teacher by working with students in small groups or on an individual basis in various instructional and learning activities and (3) *providing information regarding the students’ academic and behavioral performance to the teacher and parents.

 

*If the student is in the Special Education Program, ensures that certain specially designed instruction of the assigned student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) are implemented. 

 

To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skill and/or ability necessary.

 

Minimum Requirements are:

 

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Basic computer skills required

• Excellent communication and documentation skills required

• Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred  

 

Salary: $17.43/hr. Further details can be found in the contract on the District website under Human Resources.
