The West Chester Area School District has the following position at the secondary level (certification requirement - appropriate valid PA certification):
1.0 - Librarian - Peirce Middle School
The Librarian coordinates building level library/media programs. The librarian reports directly to the building principal and works cooperatively with administrators, supervisors, staff, parents/guardians, students and others to perform job responsibilities.
Minimum Requirements are:
• Preferred Bachelor's degree in Library Science with valid PA certification. Praxis certified will be considered
• Proficiency in the use of technology is essential. Demonstration of use of NETS standards and computer systems, not limited to the Internet, is required.
• Candidate should be able to demonstrate integration of content using "best practices" instructional strategies, PA Core and ALA Skills and Standards.
• Librarian should have extensive knowledge of MARC records as well as Library of Congress and Sears subject headings.
• Possess effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interface diplomatically with other teachers, administrators, parents, students, support staff and outside professional contacts
*Candidates who do not have their PA teaching certificate must have the College Verification of Eligibility Letter which states that you have successfully completed the program and are eligible for certification.
Salary: PER WCAEA CONTRACT
